COVID -19
As the COVID-19 pandemic spreads, one of the most important things we can all do to slow the spread is to take social distancing steps. With confirmed cases reported in Halton, we at Peffers Law are preparing for social distancing. For clarity, I do not have COVID-19, and I am not self-isolating.
For client meetings, we are adding video conferencing to our services. If you have a webcam, you can meet me by Zoom app, from your own home. If a video conference is a first meeting, you will be asked to take a plain selfie and photos of your ID and email them to the office before the meeting.
There are some meetings that must be in person, for example wills signings, and estate administration filings, where original signatures are required. These will continue, on an as needed basis, at the office until further notice. We ask that you advise whether or not you are experiencing cold, flu or gastroenteritis symptoms, and we will reschedule your in-person meeting until after your symptoms have cleared.
If you are self-isolating or ill with COVID-19, we would ask that you obtain clearance from your doctor before setting up an in-office appointment.
If you are currently well but are in the elevated risk category or are concerned that you may have difficulty with a COVID-19 infection, you are welcome to consult our office to review your current estate planning documents.
While we are keeping the office itself open until further notice, you can expect that office hours may be irregular as the situation changes. If you arrive at our office, and find the door closed and locked, please call 905-592-2099 and leave a message with our receptionist. Your messages are emailed to staff automatically and you will receive a prompt response.
Email remains an excellent format to exchange information and/or documents
