Estate Administration
Estate Administration begins at the time of death. There may be different requirements as to the process to be followed when administering the deceased’s estate. It is our experience that if you are named in someone’s Will as the Trustee/Executor you should speak to a lawyer to determine what steps need to be taken to administer the estate.
If someone you know passes away without a Will, it is also important to contact a lawyer for advise on how to administer an estate on intestacy. Legislation governs how the deceased’s assets are to be distributed and who can apply to be the Trustee.
If you have questions, or would like us to review your current estate planning documents or if you have been named as a Trustee/Executor or Attorney and have concerns or questions, please feel free to contact our office to schedule an appointment to review those existing documents with us.
If you think there may be something wrong with the Will, or that it might be challenged, we would be happy to have an honest discussion with you.
